The North Wales
2m DF Hunt ... the
Wirral & District ARC.
The next fun day out in North Wales is
Sunday 22nd April 2012
Meet up as usual at the Clwyd Gate Restaurant/Motel car park near Ruthin (Postcode LL15 1YF) in preparation for a 10am start. When you arrive at the start of the morning event, Neil, G4OAR will be Master of Ceremonies. Fox callsign
in the morning will be GW4BKF and frequency will be 145.300MHz. The Ordinance Survey Landranger Map 116 (Denbigh & Colwyn Bay) will be the coverage area for the Fox Hunts bounded by :- A5, A543, A525 and A494, and the southerly edge of the map. Ideal antenna is an HB9CV. An attenuator plus the ability to lock the transceiver on 145.300 will also be an advantage. New entrants are always welcome to come along and join in. For lunch, we assemble at the Sportsman's Arms on the A543 (Postcode LL16 5SW) from where the two afternoon hunts start. We look forward to seeing as many entrants as possible. Please observe the Highway Code, and drive safely with consideration for anyone not having as much fun as us !! (Updated Tuesday 13th September 2011) |
North Wales DF Hunt Reports and Pictures
Our website has been slightly re-arranged to bring the current list of reports together within their own space with faster access directly from our side menu. It now also has a complete list of results, although for many reasons it is not always possible to add a full report with photographs. We thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm for this event, particularly those who have some distance to travel from the midlands, and those of our Club members who we know would like to participate, but kindly offer their services as fox for the morning or afternoon events for everyone's enjoyment. We can promise those taking part an excellent day's sport in some of the most beautiful scenery in North Wales. We stress once again that this event is not just open to "experts" but to everyone who is enthused by the thrill of direction finding, and with the exception of the weather (which has been extremely kind over the years), we make every effort to make this happen. It is our prime objective, that everyone attending has an enjoyable day out playing radio while improving their skills of direction finding and building antennas/equipment to improve their teams performance at RDF. |
