Club BBQ - Wednesday 12th July 2006

A total of 50 members and friends enjoyed an excellent Family BBQ, which continued the high standard of previous years.  It was appreciated just how many xyl's and young people took the trouble to join us for the evening.  The only disappointment to the 'organisers' was that the char grilled salmon steaks, of 2005 fame, had been discontinued by Iceland .. so for 2007 your committee will be searching a suitable replacement.

Instead, there was a plentiful supply of sizzling Grade A sausages and the finest, juiciest burgers this side of the Mersey, all topped with those superb 'home cooked' onions from the banks of the River Dee. (Thanks Colin).  Strawberries and cream completed the fare.  We were again blessed with good weather although (as can be seen from the photos) Frank G4DBG was determined to be the only person dry at the end of the evening !  Perhaps he had received a hurricane warning from Michael Fish ???

Our thanks go to our Chairman, Gordon G8MMM, who headed the sub-committee and worked tirelessly behind the scenes,  continually bombarding the committee with his spreadsheets to make it all happen so smoothly !  Also to Richard G8NDD for once again bringing along the BBQ kitchen .. to Steve M0SPD for his hard work as Chef on a warm evening .. to Janat (G4NCI) and Laura M3ELV for sorting out the strawberries and cream, to the other Steve G7BBF for being "roadie" and supplying live music via his sibling, and lastly to all the other club members who in no small way, contributed to the success of the event.
